A house of words, a healing pen,
The past returns, then breathes again.
With art beside and truth in hand,
We write to help you understand.
Each claim, each post, each line we send—
Begins with care, and aims to mend.
If a tree falls in the woods, does anyone hear it? If a website is built, does anyone see it?
This blog answers that question.
Howard’s House of Medicine (HHOM LLC) is more than a consulting service—it’s part of a larger system of healing, expression, and advocacy that I share with my wife and eternal partner, Ibojka Friedman. Together, we founded The Friedman Museum (www.thefriedmanmuseum.com), a place where art, medicine, and meaning converge. Ibojka is an artist beyond compare—she’s the designer of our website, the eye behind the camera, the editor of every post, and the connector across all our social platforms. While I write every blog and every Nexus Letter myself, nothing we create is ever done alone. We are always connected.
Most mornings begin with one of two things on my mind: a blog or a Nexus Letter. If it’s a blog, I start by outlining the idea, writing the poem, and imagining an image that embodies the message. These pieces are not just information—they’re meditations on healing, purpose, and the science behind health.
If it’s a Nexus Letter, then the work begins by tracing inflammation—where it started, what triggered it, and how it links to military service. A strong Nexus begins with listening. I connect with the veteran, ask the right questions, review the records, and understand what they’re seeking. Next comes the research—diving into peer-reviewed literature to find support for my medical opinion. That’s the analysis. Only then do I craft the letter—that’s the advocacy.
At HHOM LLC, everything begins with these three principles: listen, analyze, advocate. That’s how I practiced medicine for decades, and it’s how I continue to serve veterans today.
I believe there’s no finer place for veterans to receive medically sound, compassionate support—whether through winning Nexus Letters or our growing library of blogs on reducing inflammation, navigating the VA system, and reclaiming control over one’s health.
Thank you for stopping by. I’m honored you’re here.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What makes HHOM LLC different from other medical consulting services?
A: At HHOM LLC, every case is personally reviewed by me—Dr. Howard Friedman, MD—a veteran, internal medicine physician, and former VA doctor. I don’t outsource or use templates. Each Nexus Letter, consultation, or educational blog is created with precision, empathy, and the belief that healing involves both clinical rigor and human connection. It’s not just what we write—it’s why and how we write it.
Q: How does creativity play a role in your medical practice?
A: Creativity is not a break from medicine—it’s part of the medicine. From abstract art to poetic introductions, I believe that how we communicate complex medical truths can influence how they’re received. My wife, Ibojka, and I founded The Friedman Museum to explore this intersection. At HHOM LLC, each piece of work—be it a Nexus Letter or a blog—is born from this same fusion of heart, science, and art.
Q: How do you structure your workday at HHOM LLC?
A: Each day begins with focus—often a new blog or a Nexus Letter takes center stage. I read through case files thoroughly, reflect, research, and write with precision. Meanwhile, my partner Ibojka helps shape the visuals and flow—photography, painting, and design all come together to support our work. This isn’t an assembly line—it’s a studio of care, where medicine is hand-crafted.
